Thrush hunting in Extremadura
Thrush hunting in Spain is mainly practiced in Extremadura, specifically in the region of «La Serena.» Our natural reserves are located in the town of Monterrubio de la Serena.
This town is characterized by being literally surrounded by olive trees, the abundance of which makes the thrush especially attracted to this area of the Peninsula.
In spring and summer, they feed on insects, worms, and snails. It is during autumn and winter that their main food source is the fruit of the olive tree.
In the Iberian Peninsula, in addition to finding their main food source in olives, they find the ideal place to spend the cold months and recover from the effort made during migration.

«Thrush hunting starts early in the morning, before the sun rises. The guards wait for the groups of hunters, direct them to the hunting area, and set up the stands. During this time, the thrush begins to move to feed on olives, which are abundant in our region.»
After a well-deserved break around mid-morning and replenishing our energy, we’ll continue until approximately 12:30 PM, when we return to the hotel for lunch and a little rest.
We return to a new hunting area as soon as possible. We change locations in the morning and afternoon to ensure good results. In the evening, we stay until the beginning of sunset, when the thrush begins its nocturnal rest.
